Our Cardiology and Cardiovascular Services Center is dedicated to comprehensive clinical and laboratory cardiological activities, offering a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services.
Nurture Your Heart: Keep the Beat Alive!
The adult cardiology division encompasses coronary intensive care units, cardiology clinics, and a non-interventional cardiology laboratory where procedures such as EKG, stress tests, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring are conducted.
Echocardiography
Echocardiography is a safe, non-invasive procedure that evaluates both the anatomical and functional aspects of the heart. This test provides vital information about the heart’s pumping efficiency, the condition of the cardiac valves, and any structural abnormalities. It is crucial for diagnosing valve leakages, constrictions, congenital heart issues, and myocardial diseases. In urgent situations, bedside assessments in our cardiology department are readily available.
Holter Monitoring
Holter monitoring involves recording heart activity for 24-48 hours and analyzing the data to identify abnormal rhythms, extra beats, or signs of ischemia. This test is instrumental in evaluating the efficacy of treatments.
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
This method involves a portable device that records blood pressure at regular intervals over 24 hours and is essential for patients with hypertension or hypotension. It helps assess the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Stress Tests: Treadmill
At our partnered Hospitals, we conduct treadmill stress tests to evaluate cardiovascular health. During the test, patients walk or run on a treadmill while connected to an EKG to monitor cardiac activity. This test is critical for diagnosing cardiovascular diseases and determining further investigative needs.
Preparing for Your Treadmill Stress Test
Please avoid eating for three hours before your test, bring previous EKG results, and ensure any chest hair is shaved. Stop taking certain medications, such as Dideral and Visken, at least 48 hours before your appointment—however, continue taking any prescribed blood pressure medications.
Understanding Hypertension
Hypertension, or high blood pressure, occurs when readings exceed 140/90 mmHg. This condition increases with age and is more prevalent among those with a family history of hypertension. Often asymptomatic in its early stages, hypertension requires timely management to prevent serious complications.
Symptoms of Heart Disease
Symptoms include chest pain, difficulty breathing, edema, nocturnal urination, fainting, tachycardia, and cyanosis. These symptoms necessitate immediate medical attention.
Adult Cardiovascular Surgery
We offer surgical treatments for adult cardiovascular diseases including coronary bypass, aortic aneurysm repair, heart valve surgeries, and interventions for peripheral vessel and congenital heart diseases.
Heart Valve and Aortic Aneurysm Treatments
Our center provides both open and minimally invasive procedures for heart valve repair or replacement and aortic aneurysm treatment. We utilize cutting-edge techniques to ensure optimal outcomes with minimal recovery time.
Peripheral Vascular Diseases and Therapies
We diagnose and treat peripheral vascular diseases using angiography, stenting, and surgical interventions to restore circulation and alleviate symptoms.
Varicose Vein Treatments
Our comprehensive approach to varicose veins includes Doppler ultrasound diagnostics followed by treatments such as sclerotherapy, laser therapy, and minimally invasive surgical options depending on the severity of the condition.
At Imperium Health, we are committed to delivering state-of-the-art care with a patient-centered approach, ensuring your heart health is in the best hands.
